You spot a wizardly cat meditating on the steps of the monument. They open only one eye to look at you as you approach.
“Hmmm...I specifically remember you lot being dead? Well, the less clever ones anyway.”
You feel a little insulted.
“Ah well, we all knew it wouldn’t take. The dying part that is - and here you are! So, bring me up to speed, hm?”
The cat, who seems all-too-familiar with the Grimslingers, patiently listens, nodding all the while as you relay recent events.
“Hrmph. Well, you no doubt need my help, that much is clear...and I suppose helping you find Icarus is the only way I'll get that spell diary he stole back. Ahem! Allow me to introduce myself, I am Ala’Miago, the Eighth Apprentice of the Old God.”
The feline lets out a wheezy old man grunt as he climbs to his feet. You hear a tiny squeak as Ala’Miago steps forward, causing him to pause mid-step and recoil slightly. He grumbles and says, “Ah, fish feces, I forgot you were here.”
You’re confused.
He quickly looks to his left, “Yes, yes, calm your squirms Mr. Squigglesworth!” he growls, then turns back to you, “You see my unsavory friend here?”
You don’t.
“This wretch won’t let me leave until I've paid him the mana worms I owe him. I know! I know! Normally I wouldn’t energize off of something so...debasing, but I was desperate. I’m sure you’re well acquainted with that sort of motivation. Well, either way, I won’t be able to join you unless you can get me some mana worms, big or small...for...Mr. Squigglesworth, of course.”
